United Arab Emirates attractions and Travel Tips

In the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula, in the Middle East next to Qatar, is the federation of the United Arab Emirates, with Abu Dhabi as the capital. Start your trip at Abu Dhabi Airport or at Dubai International Airport and take on this fascinating journey to discover Arab culture, beautiful arid nature and incredible cities.

The Emirates and its creation

Following the end of the United Kingdom's protectorate over the Emirates, in 1971, the Emirates were formed with six sheikhs as responsible for their 1971 Constitution. These are seven states: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al- Jaime, Sharjah and Umm al-Qaywayn, with Abu Dhabi and Dubai being the two major powers. The main source of income is oil, so much so that they have been able to maintain their reserves over the last decade in exchange for good financing and investment in improved oil recovery technologies. The tourism sector has been one of the most important for the whole and largely thanks to investments in groups such as the Burj Al Arab, the Palm Islands, the Formula 1 "Yas Marina" circuit and the highest building in the world: the Burj Khalifa of Dubai.

Know the capital with your rent a car

Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, is a place where the population was dedicated to the work of shepherds and fishmongers, camel breeding and vegetable growing in desert oases. After the first discoveries of pearls, in the twentieth century, began to export and began to develop the country. But it was not until 1958 that oil was discovered, which caused an economic boom and consequently its international fame. If you are a car lover we recommend a visit to Ferrari World, a theme park dedicated to this brand that is located in the Island of Yas of Abu Dhabi. It is a complex containing 19 attractions with two roller coasters and a water attraction under the large red deck of more than 86,000 square meters. If you dare, get into the Formula Rossa, the fastest roller coaster in the world that reaches 150 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds.

Travel to Dubai

Dubai is a city that is constantly growing and wants to show its culture to the rest of the world. It offers entertainment and fun for all ages and all tastes. Here is the famous Jumerah Palm, one of the biggest attractions in the city, formed by a group of artificial islands: a trunk, 17 branches (which give the shape of a palm tree) and a semicircle that protects the whole complex of the waves. You will also see the world's tallest building, 828 meters high: the Burj Khalifa, which was built by over 12,000 people for approximately 6 years. In the city you must approach its famous souks, especially the Soup of Spices, where you will enjoy the traditional colors, flavors and aromas. As for the beaches, Al Mamzar Beach Park is recommended, with its fine white sand, calm waters and views of the Burj Al Arab, the hotel in the shape of a candle that is a symbol of the city's identity.

Much more with your rent a car

United Arab Emirates proposes to go to other cities less common among tourists who, even for this reason, may seem more attractive to preserve its traditional charm. You can go to Sharajh, where you will find a place called the Heritage Area. Here the buildings with the original materials have been restored and there is a square where the Al Arsah Souk is located. In Sharajh there are up to 17 museums, so it is considered the Cultural Capital of the Arab World. It is also interesting to go to Central Souq, the central market where you can buy carpets, antiques and even gold. Another recommended destination is Al Ain, the fourth largest city in the Emirates, where the cultural heritage of the Emirates is preserved and highlights the camel market. It is surprising to see how the merchants negotiate and transport the camels from different cities.

Also, remember that you are relatively close by plane from countries like Israel, Iraq, Saudi Arabia or Jordan.
