The city is located in the province of Malaga within the Andalucia region, it has a population of over 500,000 thus making it the largest city on the Costa Del Sol. Sights

Some of the inner castle has been restored and offers and interesting walk for the visitor.
Malaga Cathedral was built in the 1780's and the construction went on for over 200 years and is to this day still unfinished. You will find a plague stating that the funds raised for finishing it were instead used to help gain American independence from British rule. Within the building you will find some great art and sculptures and the cathedral is also home to its own museum.
La Malagueta dates back to the 19th century and is the old bullfighting ring of the city. Since 1972, it has been a cultural asset of Spain, within walking distance of La Malagueta, you will reach some of Malaga’s lovely beaches.
Picasso
Picasso’s birthplace is here on the Plaza de la Merced and here you can find a variety of cafes and restaurants, it houses many of the painters pieces as well as pieces by other artists.
The Picasso Home Museum was opened in 2003 and it showcases over 200 pieces of art which have been donated by Picasso's family. The museum is located in the center of the historic city and so it is easy to reach with your hire car Malaga.
