General Information
The town is found on rivers Ystwyth and the Rheidol and on the western coast. It is a very secluded town, although there are towns nearby known of a large population number. The town has often been referred to as the true capital of Wales due to it being the heart of Welsh nationalism and the Welsh language movement as well as being the home of institutions such as the National Library of Wales and the University of Wales. Since it has a university within the city limits, the town has a large population, which means there are over 50 pubs in Aberystwyth!

Vale of Rheidol Railway is a seven mile railway running between Aberystwyth and small village of Devil's Bridge. Opened in 1902 the railway has been constantly active for over 100 years. The route has a number of stops. The village of Devil's Bridge itself is also a major attraction. The story of the devil's bridge is that it proved too difficult for mortals to construct the devil agreed to build the bridge in return for the life of the first living thing to cross it. The devil was tricked by an old lady when she threw food on the bridge which the dog chased and so it was the dog’s life that was taken.
Ceredigion Museum is one of the only museums in the town. Its main focus is the history of the county of Ceredigion showcasing old Welsh costumes, a collection of taxidermy, and other artefacts.

Having stated before that the town is rather secluded, it is still very possible to make excursions and explore more of Wales thanks to a hire car Aberystwyth.
